largest dog
The world’s tallest dog has died at the age of seven in Arizon, USA.
Giant George weighed more than 110kg and was able to reach a height 2.20m standing on his hind legs.
The sad news of the Great Dane’s death was announced on George’s official Facebook page.
Owner David Nasser said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce Giant George died last night.”
Giant George ate around 50kg of food each month.
George was so big he had to have his own queen-sized double bed inside the house, where he slept until he died last week.

Record breaker

In 2010, he was named by Guinness World Records as both the world’s tallest living dog and tallest dog ever.

1. What breed of dog was George? Great Dane.
2. Who was George's owner? David Nasser
3. What did he make it into the Guinness World Records for? Tallest living dog and tallest dog ever.
4. What does his owner mean by 'it is with a heavy heart we announce Giant George died last night?' it was with a broken heart we announce Giant George died last night.
5. Would you like to own a dog like George? Why or why not? No because it would be so sad when he dies.
6. How would you feel if you saw George in a street and why? Normal because he's just a normal dog that is only tall.

Evidence of achieving my reading goals.

These pictures show that I have been answering questions that my group ask and sharing my own questions about the stories we read.

My other reading goal is to continue extending my vocabulary knowledge.
These pictures show that I have extended my vocabulary knowledge but I have to keep on working on this all the time to learn new words.

Reading-Main Idea

Yesterday the Roald Dahl reading group learnt how to interveiw people. Each of us got to interveiw each other I interveiwed Shaynie-Lee, Sam interveiwed me and Shaynie-lee interveiwed Sam. We did it because we had just finished reading a book called AND THE WINNER IS...we had to think about the main idea and what number we would give it out of 10 or1.

Reciprocal Reading

The Roald Dahl group has learnt how to do reciprocal reading, that means one person at a time gets to be teacher. Reciprocal reading has helped us a lot with reading because lets say Shaynie-Lee was the teacher and Tawhiao was reading to her while the rest of the group read, and he came to a word he did not know. Then Shaynie-Lee and the rest of the group could help him and he could one day see that word and know what it means himself and how to say it.
