100WC-As the train entered the tunnel

Once upon a time in faraway land there was a bridge no-one was allowed to cross like the troll and the three goats. No one even dared put a foot on it otherwise BANG... a gun would be fired headshot. Now as the years went past a plan was decided by the men that lived there. One day their plan was successful.  They started shovelling a large tunnel in the ground. As the train entered the tunnel for the workers to get on with finishing the tunnel, a lava flow came trickling through and everyone died. The men were never forgotten for their bravery and exhausting work.

Evidence of achieving my writing goals

My writing goals are to use a range of language features in my writing such as personification, and alliteration etc.
This shows that I used personification to describe Hotumauea shivering.

To use apostrophes accurately.

This shows that I know where apostrophes go. Because a letter is missing or to show that someone owns it.

My final goal is to edit my own writing looking for ways to improve it further.

100WC changes to our golf tournament story

Thanks to the teachers who have commented. We were able to improve our writing using your comments. Check out our new improved version.

It was the day of the golf tournament. I shot through the door as fast as lightning. Mum asked why I was in such a hurry. I looked back but didn’t say a thing. I reached the golf factory and dashed through the design room.

That’s when it all happened...

I twisted the door handle to the production roomCreeeaak! My ears were hit by a horrible sizzling noise. Next thing I heard … was the ping pong of all the golf balls flying across the room! One hit a shiny red button. But instead of stopping, the chaos still went on.

Can you please leave a comment about what you liked about our changes. Our changes are in red.

My 100WC shows that I am editing my work using the feedback I get from my readers.

Evidence of achieving my reading goals.

These pictures show that I have been answering questions that my group ask and sharing my own questions about the stories we read.

My other reading goal is to continue extending my vocabulary knowledge.
These pictures show that I have extended my vocabulary knowledge but I have to keep on working on this all the time to learn new words.

100WC-Rubbish bins

 Week #37

One dark gloomy night as thunder rolled, lighting crashed, and possums roamed the streets suddenly... out of the shadows came a loud booming noise. Then out stepped a shiny green monster eating all the rubbish in its way. The village was peaceful in the morning for all the monsters had frozen. Their green eyes shone at the thought of being able to trick some villagers again. They spit out their banana peels then when the villagers try and feed the bins they slip and fall down on their backs. The monsters eyes were grinning at all the excitement of tomorrow’s town.

Room 9s awesome assembly

I felt nervous on the morning. But when it ended I felt proud to have done an amazing assembly. My favourite part was when Alex Sok ripped his pants he was so happy. Next year I will talk more slowly and clearly.
